Through a grant in support of the Melbourne Prize for literature The Robert Salzer Foundation has added literature to the fields of activity which have its backing.

Opera was Robert Salzer's first musical love and the Foundation is a keen supporter of opera performance and composition and the education of singers.

The Foundation has supported musical composition and creativity through grants to 3MBS, Australian String Quartet, Lyrebird Music Society, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Australian Art Orchestra and through ABAF to some individual composition and creativity projects.

The Foundation has supported the graphic arts through contributions to the cost of art works for Victorian regional galleries and grants to Linden Gallery in St Kilda.

The Ballet was also an interest of the Salzers and the Foundation has supported the Australian Ballet School since the Foundation's inception.

Young instrumentalists' careers have benefitted from the Foundation's support of Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Victorian connected activities of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Music Australia.

The Foundation has supported capital works programs for Melbourne Theatre Company, Melbourne Recital Centre, La Mama Theatre, the National Theatre St Kilda and 3MBS.

The Foundation has made grants to numerous other community musical and theatrical activities.
